Only gave it one star because I had to. Joe Ewes is a horrible coach and program director from the youth programs to high school coach . They lied about things to several parents . Parents were mad and frustrated and quit the team . We ordered pic in October and never got them . Don't worry the high school isn't any better . We let kids that don't play on the team sit on the bench . Hoorible programs. Don't move on the district if you want your kids to succeed!
There's this kid at your school that was being gay
Really good teachers and the academics are very strong here as a senior I feel very prepared for college. However, when it comes to sports teams here the athletes put very little effort in their respected sports except for the girls basketball team which went to state. A good majority of the kids here do not care about really anything and love drama. I came from a high school in Texas and we had four times as many students and didn't have as much drama and issues with violence and drugs as this school ( North has around 1,000 kids). Also this school isn't very accepting of people from other places such as different schools, states and even countries. If you're not from Davenport I do not recommend going here the people at this school do not like new kids because they are all really close to each other and have known each other for years. If you're new to the district or looking to go to this school and you're not from Davenport or don't know anyone at this school I recommend going to Pleasant Valley or Bettendorf those schools are more accepting of new kids and also have more opportunities and better sports programs. However, I faced problems with bullying and other issues for really dumb reasons such as being from somewhere else and not wanting to play football because most of the guys on the team who graduated in 2016 were very rude and lazy and very offensive.However, most of the players now are cool people such as the current Varsity team. Also I almost had to have someone arrested for harassment and had to switch a class because of the situation. When I came here my junior year the kids in my grade level weren't very open and did not talk to me which didn't really have an affect on me until the rumors and bullying started this is why I recommend if you're new you should look at Bettendorf or Pleasant Valley. As a new student you will have little or no chance at this school no matter what your talents are or what you like to do especially if you want to play sports. Like I said I would recommend Pleasant Valley or Bettendorf for any sports.
From a soon-to-be junior at this facility, I must say that, while I'm not very engaged in extracurriculars, my 2 years here have been very exciting and insightful. Very good learning environment with great teachers!
