Buyer beware - many of the vendors are "truck farmers": they purchase produce from the same distributers as conventional grocery stores. Look for lots and lots of packing boxes, or fruit/veggies that are out of season. Not only is this dishonest to consumers, it prices out the actual local farmers. Make sure to ask who's actually local and who sprays. I've had a guy tell me, "we only spray before the sprouts come up!" Thanks, but no thanks. There's great produce available from great people here, but you have to do your homework.
I love to spend my Saturday morning at the farmers market! It is a great place to buy good quality items and to just relax and hang out. There is so much to see and learn as well, the venders are more then willing to answer questions and help out with things.
Great to see how much the Farmer' Market has expanded over the years. Large variety of produce to pick up while your ordering a breakfast burrito or crepes. Overall a great scene to peruse on occasion.
Went to Freight House several times this summer for honey, veggies, and food trucks mostly. There is tons of variety and something for everybody!
always love the market. picked up some great brats, wonderful vegetables, and some very tasty coffee. dont forget an ice cold beer from the taproom. all in all a great day.
